IntPiPoMo: Underwater

I love Vashj’ir, it’s so beautiful there, I love the colors, the music and the quests. It was the first zone I tested on the beta after they added the music and I spent hours there. I don’t go back there often and usually skip leveling there on my alts cause Mount Hyjal is so much easier, faster and cause you get revered with the faction there by only doing the quests.

But I thought I’d go back to take a few screenshots, cause I had almost forgotten how beautiful Vashj’ir can be.

Cataclysm beta testing

I got into the Cataclysm alpha in May and started testing in Mount Hyjal. But many of the quests and areas were so bugged that you got stuck all the time and couldn’t continue on the quests. So I spent more time to check out the new areas, old zone changes and leveling worgen and goblin. I went back to Mount Hyjal and completed that zone just before the closed beta started June 30 2010.

A lot changed when the beta started, things look so much more completed and there are less bugs. It’s playable now.  But it still happens that I get stuck on dismounted in the air.

I have also been in Twilight Highlands after I read on a forum how to get in even tho the zone wasn’t open for testing. I just couldn’t wait, cause it was so easy to get in there and I had to see it. Can’t wait to do the quests there, so excited about the Dragonmaw and what story lies behind the tentacles and captured dragons.

There was a beta patch today and a new launcher was also released, it allows you to stream game data while you play. The level cap is now 85, and Twilight Highlands and Uldum open for testing. But the servers aren’t online yet, so I have to wait. I’m not high enough level to go there yet anyway, only 82, soon 83. I have to level up fast now to be able to test all the new zones and the new instances they opened.

My plan now is to go to Deepholm as soon as the servers are up, queue for some instances maybe. Will take plenty of screenshots and maybe fraps some videos on my way.

The Abyssal Ride – Seahorse mount quest

If you are going to be making it anywhere in this kelp forest, you will need a reliable mount. I think that I have spotted something that might work, friend. Tie off a lure at the rope just west of us, and then mount the seahorse that it will attract. Be warned, you may need to work hard to break the beast.

Because Vashj’ir is a underwater quest zone you have to swim, and you get a buff called “Sea legs” which increases your sea floor movement by 60% in in one of the first quests in Kelp Forest, but it’s not fast enough.

So at level 80 you can get this quest called The Abyssal Ride from Erunak Stonespeaker and the reward is the Subdued Abyssal Seahorse which increases speed by 280%. I think it’s a follow-up quest so you might have to do some of the other quests in the zone first to be able to take it.

The Abyssal Breach Whirlpool

Mount bug

Frapsed this last time I was in Throne of the Tides, because there was a bug where you could mount a party member’s mount like if it was a multi passenger mount, so here is a short video of it. Was a bit funny.

And adding a few new screenshots from Vashj’ir.
