Rushing through Hellfire Citadel

WoWScrnShot_101115_224325

I’m impressed with the progress we’ve had in the guild this month in Fluffy Kittens of Doom. We have killed three new heroic bosses in 9 days and we had a fourth one, Mannoroth on 1% last raid. Xhul’horac took a while to master because we didn’t have enough space on the platform by the time we got to the final phase. After a while we found a tactic that worked for us and we got control of the final phase, then it was a kill and we one-shotted him the week after. Socrethar the Eternal and Tyrant Velhari were the two other bosses we got down last week. They didn’t take us that long but I’m not sure how easily they will go down next reset.

Other bosses we still struggled with sometimes are Fel Lord Zakuun and Shadow-Lord Iskar. Sometimes they go down easily, other times they take us a while. It depends a lot on our raid setup because our raid group is usually very small, like 10-15 people, and sometimes one of our best damage dealers have to off tank because we don’t have a second tank, so we lose some damage there. We also got a bunch of new people who are trying to learn the bosses and gearing up, so we can’t expect so much from them yet.

Hopefully all the bosses up to Mannoroth will go down easily next reset so we can kill Mannoroth himself.

By the way.. We are looking for more people to join our guild and raids. So if you understand Norwegian, play Horde, preferably on Stormscale (EU) and got around 680-700 item level, then you’re welcome to join us.

My top 3 things in WoW

Mr & Mrs WoW started a project earlier this month and they want us to list the top 3 things in WoW that we love.

I’m really tired of all the negativity about the game I love most, World of Warcraft, that’s rocking our community at the moment. EVERYWHERE I turn there’s someone moaning. What I propose is that we all list the top 3 things in Warcraft that we LOVE. The more ideas we get the better – so many people haven’t heard or haven’t bothered with certain things because they don’t know (enough) about it. Let’s change that. Let’s give the community our joy of the game back.

You can read more about it here.

1. Exploring

SO2

My favorite thing to do in World of Warcraft is to explore the world. I love to run or fly around and explore every area of the map, not just the ones you go through while questing, but also those areas of the map which you’ve never been to. I want to know every part of the world. So I dive into lakes and oceans to see what lies beneath the surface, I climb every mountain to see what’s on the top or to check out the view, I zoom in and out to see both small details and the whole picture. Exploring is most fun when I discover something new, like an easter egg with a reference to something outside the game like a book, TV series or a movie. Or even more fun when I find a hidden area none else know about or a place one rarely visits, like the Whispering Forest with the faerie dragons and the beautiful music or the Karazhan crypt. I’ve written posts about most of the hidden places I know about and about some easter eggs I’ve found. You can find them here.

2. Playing with friends

SO3

This game wouldn’t be the same without friends. I usually play together with my boyfriend. We have played together for many years now. But we used to be in this great Scandinavian guild, actually that’s where we got to know each other. There were so many friendly and fun people in that guild, I had so many friends and we had so much fun together both in raids and outside raids. Sadly the guild stopped raiding in 2013 and most people stopped playing or left for another guild and we kind of lost contact with most of them. But this game is so much more fun when you’re playing with friends.

3. PvP and PVE

SO4 SO1

PvE has always been my main thing to do in the game. Nothing’s like trying a new out a new boss, progressing on it for a while and then finally taking it down! I started raiding right after I leveled up my first character back in The Burning Crusade and didn’t stop until late summer last year when my guild stopped raiding. But I’ve also always had a great interest for PvP. PvP (battlegrounds) is actually what I wanted to focus on at first. I enjoyed the excitement in trying to beat another player and do my best for my team to win the battleground. I was so happy when they announced rated battlegrounds and I really wanted to find a good team and play a lot to get good rating and improve my skills, but I never had time for it because I raided three days per week and I didn’t have time to play every night. If rated battlegrounds were introduced earlier in the game when I started played I would most likely have chosen that over raiding.
