Back in the game for patch 6.2!

I have reactivated my account with a WoW Token after one month break. Been playing Diablo 3 a lot lately so it felt weird to be back in WoW and I thought it would take me a while to get used to the controls again. But I jumped right into it and joined a rated battleground group. The controls and everything came back to me very fast. It wasn’t the best group I’ve seen as most of them were poorly geared alts but we won 4/7 games so it was fun enough.

I actually got my Veteran of the Horde achievement which gives a Veteran of the Horde title and the Vicious War Wolf mount.

Vicious War Wolf

My plan now it to run through Blackrock Foundry, which I haven’t done yet, for some upgrades and just to have seen it and ready up on the patch notes. I’m not sure if I want to PvE on my druid at all cause I didn’t think balance PvE was very fun last time I played it and I don’t want to try a different spec either. But I do want to play my resto shaman in PvE, so maybe I’ll just stick with that and have the druid as a PvP character. But nothing’s set in stone, so we’ll see what happens.

Patch day!

It’s patch day in EU!

Patch 6.1 is Warlords of Draenor’s first major patch. There are many changes and updates in this patch. You can read all the patch notes and find useful guides on Wowhead. I didn’t play 6.1 on the PTR but I read the patch notes so there were many things to look forward to. I didn’t have work today so I was ready to log in when the servers came up.

The first thing I did was to log on to all of my characters to add my heirlooms to the new heirlooms tab. I’m so happy we finally got this tab because I’ve bought some heirlooms several times because they have “disappeared” which means I’ve most likely sent them from one alt to another and then forgot the items in the mailbox for a month or how long it takes for the item to be sent back and then disappearing. This new heirloom tab will make it so much easier. Had more than 35 heirlooms so I got my Chauffeured Chopper!

Then I upgraded my followers to 675 item level to unlock the Blackrock Foundry mission and get 100% chance on it. Completed it and got a nice trinket.

I was a little disappointed with the garrison visitors. Looked forward to upgrading my gear to max item level but the traders I needed weren’t available today, so I have to wait for them and hopefully it won’t take too long before they decide to visit. I only have two level 100 characters with level 3 garrison, so I might have to visit a friend’s garrison if I’m unlucky with my visitors. But I got a quest from Harrison Jones which I completed to unlock the same quest as a mission for my followers, so now I only need 5 more quests to unlock Harrison Jones as a follower!

What I looked forward to the most was the garrison music box! My very own jukebox which can play some of my favorite pieces of music from World of Warcraft, like Lament of the Highborne, Totems of the Grizzlemaw, Invincible, Legends of Azeroth and the Faerie Dragon song. I don’t have all of those tracks yet, but I’ll take a trip around Azeroth to collect them as soon as I can. Read more about the music box in this guide.

I don’t have the S.E.L.F.I.E. Camera yet, but I will definitely let you know when I got it because I’m excited to try out this new method of taking pictures in-game.

The Twitter integration was also something I was excited to see in-game. I like to tweet about what I do in WoW for example a screenshot of what I’m doing, maybe show off a new mount, an achievement or just write a short Tweet to my followers. All this will be so much easier now cause you can do it in-game! Read more about it in this guide.

I read that “Ashran’s queuing system received substantial changes to reduce wait times” so I’m looking forward to seeing if the wait time is shorter now because it wasn’t fun to be stuck in queue for several hours.

There are also some updates and changes to druids and the balance druid changes are of course those I’m most interesting in.

  • Cosmetic transformations that alter the character’s appearance now have a higher priority than Druid combat forms. This means Druids can keep a transformation while shapeshifted.
  • Many druid shapeshift forms now have attachment points on the head and back for cosmetic toy effects such as Blazing Wings or Pepe. Additional shapeshift forms may receive attachment points in the future.
  • The PvP gear for Balance Druids have received some changes to the 2 and 4 set bonus.
    • 2 set bonus now has a visual effect to indicate when the we’re unable to generate a Starsurge charge from Entangling Roots
    • 4 set bonus has been redesigned: When Starsurge hits a player, the cast time of Starfire is reduced by 30%, and the damage of Wrath is increased by 30% for 6 seconds
  • Force of Nature’s Treants has been buffed with a 35% increase to their health and spellpower, and an 80% increase to their armor and attack power.
  • Renewal now instantly heals for 30% of max health (up from 22%).
  • Stellar Flare (Balance) damage has been increased by 16%, and now has a duration of 24 seconds (up from 20 seconds).
  • Moonfire‘s mana cost has been reduced by 55%.
  • Balance Druids now learn a new passive ability at level 38, Nature’s Bounty.
  • Starfall damage decreased by 16.6%.
  • Starfall and Sunfall now only hits targets affected with Moonfire or Sunfire by default.
  • Glyph of Guided Stars has been renamed to Glyph of Untamed Stars and is now a Minor glyph. Glyph of Untamed Stars expands Starfall and Sunfall to hit all targets within range.
  • Displacer Beast is now classified as an Arcane School ability and can no longer be used while silenced.

Will spend the next few days and this weekend to explore the rest of the new stuff and changes we got today.

What were you most excited to see in this patch?

A busy week

Patch 6.0.2 has been live for over a week now and there has been so much to do!

I logged out at the Dark Portal the night before the patch after a few hours of world PvP in the area.

When I logged on the next day, everything was different!

The new portal was there along with the Iron Horde!

I spent a lot of time going through my bank and sorting items in the void storage on all of my characters.

Finally got this awesome mount, Warlord’s Deathwheel!

Had to learn how to play moonkin again because of the changes in the patch. Basically Starfall pulls the whole world and you don’t really need any other spells while questing or doing dungeons.

Completed the new Iron Horde Invasion quest chain in the Blasted Lands.

Ran through some old dungeons and raids for old achievements I wanted to complete.

Did Garrosh heroic and got two heirloom staffs on my druid and shaman. Hope to find a group on some of my other characters as well and get some of the other heirloom weapons.

I haven’t race changed my druid yet. Mostly because I don’t hate the new troll model, I just think I prefer the new tauren male over it, so I might race change before WoD. But if or when I race change I need to get a new background for my blog and new signatures and avatars on the forums and Twitter.

I’ve spent some time leveling my Alliance shaman, level 87 at the moment, but planning to level more these weeks and hit 90 in good time before the expansion.

Hallow’s End is here! I’m trying to collect enough treats for the pets and the toy, and I would like to get some of the gear pieces for my alts.

What have you done in WoW this week?

Patch day!

Patch day is finally here on EU realms! I’m really looking forward to the new talents and new abilities cause I think it makes moonkin much more fun to play. I’ve already spent some time leveling up and playing heroics and battlegrounds on the beta, so I’m looking forward to see how it is on live. Account-wide pets and mounts is also great cause I’ve got some mounts I like a lot on characters I rarely play.

What I like the most about the moonkin changes is Wild Charge which I’ve found myself using a lot especially in battlegrounds to jump backwards, like a hunter would use Disengage, and used when not in a form you’ll jump to a friendly target, so I’ve macroed it so I can press it twice and jump to a player.

Astral Communication is also something I’ve been looking forward to cause it allows you to change and control your Lunar or Solar power outside of combat, so you can choose which one you want before the combat starts.

What I’m not looking forward to as much is downloading the patch which usually takes a while and this “reconfiguring game files” which it’s doing right now, looks like it’ll take forever. I think I also have to update most of my addons and maybe fix  them in-game, cause some of them resetted after I updated them yesterday.

I will update my moonkin guide some day when I got time, but if you’re looking for a complete guide right now, check out Icy Veins’ Balance Druid PvE guide for patch 5.0.4.

Patch day sucks

Patch 4.0.1 was released yesterday, it’s now 02:07 AM in Denmark, but servers didn’t get up before 04:00 PM yesterday and when I got online the first thing I did was to visit my trainer in Moonglade and fix my spec, I went with the one I linked in my guide here it is on my Armory.

Then I fixed all my glyphs. Prime: Wrath, Moonfire and Insect Swarm. Major: Innervate, Rebirth and Starfall. Minor: Unburdened Rebirth, Mark of the Wild and Aquatic Form.

And I didn’t have enough hit so I gemmed some hit gems in blue sockets and reforged some crit to haste, cause I had like way too much crit. Now my Armory says 3689 Spell Power, 445 hit (0,04 chance to miss 83/boss doh!), 44,88% crit and 1224 haste.

I did update all my addons on Curse Client and load out of date, but still most of them didn’t work, and when I tried to play with them anyway my fps dropped to like 1-5 whenever I was in a place with other people, like in Orgrimmar. I got huge fps spikes and couldn’t play, so looks like I have to play without my beloved addons until they all get updated and work together. Has to be the addons cause my fps has always been fine before and it’s no problem without addons.

I managed to test my dps on the boss dummy, then without all DoT tracking addons, and I did about 16k which I’m happy with. Maybe I’ll do more when I fix the addon problem.

I looked forward to test my dps and everything in raids but I’ll suck without addons. I can’t play without some of them like Forte Exorcist, Skada, Omen, DBM, Grid, Pitbull, Satrinas Bufframes.. Hope they fix them all very soon, raid tomorrow.. or today.. 02:18 AM now.

Not looking forward to all the work on my alts.. I haven’t been able to find a lot of info on fury warrior after the patch, guess I just have to search more. And UI, I haaaate to fix UI and addons, it always takes hours..

Besides all the class changes not much has changed, no Cataclysm event, buhu, but the earthquakes are there, so maybe soon…

I should be happy tho, my blog and moonkin guide got many hits yesterday, 3529, passed 10.000 total visitors, soon 12.000! This is a lot to me, used to like 100-200 daily hits, happy when I get more than that. Thanks a lot, hope the guide is helpful.

Oh, by the way, they didn’t remove Champion/Conqueror of Ulduar, and turn it into a feat of strenght.. WoW Insider said they would.. Pfff…

Another thing: Don’t use Starfall on Sindragosa when you got unchained magic…. It doesn’t count as one spell anymore, so… 10 stars, 10 stacks… Hurts, trust me.. And on heroic mode, you’ll kill the whole raid, grats!
