This week it’s all about the nerdiest things you’ve done! I don’t think I’ve done that many nerdy things compared to others. But some might be a bit nerdy, what do you think?

1. I have been to several World of Warcraft midnight releases to buy the Collector’s Edition which I preordered

2. Pulled all nighters and taken time off work/school to play new content

3. Attended guild meetings in a different country

4. I have driven across Hardangervidda on a cold and snowy November day to watch some of my favorite bands play

5. Started this blog :)

What’s the nerdiest thing you’ve ever done?

The first fandom this month is about our top five fictional moms.

Molly Weasley

She had seven children and quickly took Harry Potter under her wing and she’s been like a mother to him. Molly proves she would do anything to protect her children in the Battle for Hogwarts when she kills Bellatrix Lestrange who was trying to kill Molly’s only daughter Ginny.

Daenerys Targaryen

Mother of dragons, she talks about her dragons as they were her children and as the dragons grow stronger and fiercer she still cares about them even though she has trouble controlling them. The slaves of Yunkai called her Mhysa which means mother when she freed them from slavery. She really cares about her people.

Lily Potter

Sacrificed herself to save her son’s life.

Catelyn Stark

She loves her children and husband. If you’ve read the books then you know what she’s does to revenge them.

Mary Cooper

Sheldon Cooper’s mom is the only one who can control him and the only person he will really listen to.

5 Fandom Friday: New Years Blogging Resolutions

5 Fandom Friday is a community building project created The Nerdy Girlie and SuperSpaceChick. Read more about it and how to join here.

1. Write better posts: I’m always trying to write good and interesting posts.

2. Write more often: I would like to write 2-3 posts per week but sometimes I don’t know what to write about and other times real life is very busy.

3. Comment on other blogs: I haven’t been very good at this lately, but I want to become better at it for next year.

4. Interact more with other bloggers and my followers on Twitter: I used to be very good at this but I can improve. I want to tweet more, retweet and share posts, Follow Friday every Friday etc.

5. Optimize my blog layout and design: I’m actually very happy with my current design but I would like to get a new similar background with the updated character models or just a plain one without any characters. It’s hard to pick a theme to use because I’m never 100% satisfied with it and I can’t change that much when I’m using wordpress.com without the custom design. But I’ve used this theme for a while now and I think it looks pretty good.

I love to watch movies during Christmas! Here are some of my favorites:

From All of Us to All of You

No Christmas without Jiminy Cricket, Mickey Mouse, Tinkerbell and the rest of our friends from Disney in this animated Christmas special from 1958. It’s a tradition to watch it every year before we get ready for dinner.

Harry Potter movies

We used to go to the cinema and watch the new Harry Potter movie every year around Christmas so they are Christmas movies to me and I like to watch them every year. I love the Harry Potter books and the movies are really good too.

Chronicles of Narnia movies

As with the Harry Potter movies we used to go to the cinema and watch the new Narnia movie every year around Christmas so they are Christmas movies to me and I like to watch them every year. The story of Narnia has always been special to me cause I’ve always loved the books and I think the movies are so good. I used to watch the old BBC-produced TV serie Chronicles of Narnia every year before the movies came. 

Home Alone 1 and 2

Two of my favorite Christmas movies since I was little and I still watch them every year.

A Christmas Carol

I love this Charles Dickens story and this movie is great. I used to watch Mickey’s Christmas Carol from 1983 on TV in Christmas when I was younger, but they don’t sent it every year.

5 Fandom Friday: Presents I Want Santa To Bring Me

There are so many things I wish I had that I would like to get for Christmas, four of my five picks are things I really need. Like the wool underwear because it’s so cold here during winter and it looks great. The ski jacket, pants and hiking boots not because I go skiing or hiking very often, though I want to, but because I can use them to stay warm while walking to work or at work when we’re outside and it’s cold. And the shoes because I need some good shoes for walks and exercise. I don’t really need the Wii U, but I would love to have one because there are so many games I want to play. Some of these things are a bit expensive so I think I’ll have to buy them for myself.
