Best dressed: My favorite transmogs

Earlier in May Z and Cinder created a new topic for their blog challenge:

Best dressed: We want to see your best transmogs, and hear the story behind them. How did you come up with them? How long did it take you to farm the pieces? And just how often do you change your outfits? Let us know!

I love to create transmogs for my characters but I hate to farm transmog gear because it might take weeks or even months for the item you want to drop and I don’t have the patience to run a dungeon or raid again and again every day or week. Sometimes when I create an outfit it’s because I find an item I just HAVE TO use and then I have to create a whole set for it. But usually I just use full sets that I like. I don’t change my transmog very often because I find something I love and then I stick with it for a while.

Wrathful and The Stars mage

I leveled my mage to 110 in April but didn’t have any nice transmogs to use, so I bought the Wrathful armor and I was lucky enough to get the hidden artifact appearance.

  • Wrathful Gladiator’s Silk Armor
  • The Stars’ Design (Felo’melorn)

Cycle druid

The Cycle armor is from Mists of Pandaria challenge mode and it’s one of my favorite druid sets in the game.

  • Hood of the Cycle
  • Branches of the Cycle
  • Robes of the Cycle
  • Gloves of the Cycle
  • Waistguard of the Cycle
  • Envoy of Goldrinn (Scythe of Elune)

Celestial Harmony shaman

Vestments of the Celestial Harmony is the tier 16 set from Siege of Orgrimmar. Here without the belt because I thought it looked better like this. The weapon is from Throne of Thunder and shield from Dragon Soul. I’ve had these items for years but didn’t make an outfit of them until very recently.

  • Cowl of Smoking Dreams
  • Fleshsmoke Chain Shoulders
  • Tunic of Celestial Harmony
  • Handwraps of Celestial Harmony
  • Legwraps of Celestial Harmony
  • Torall, Rod of the Shattered Throne
  • Timepiece of the Bronze Flight

Golden warrior

This transmog was inspired by the Cyprus set I made for Mog the World. I wanted to create a similar golden set with items I already had and this is what I came up with.

  • Helm of Burning Righteousness
  • Dawnsteel Shoulders
  • Ritssyn’s Ruminous Drape
  • Heroic Judicator’s Chestguard
  • Conqueror’s Gauntlets
  • Girdle of the Lightbearer
  • Conqueror’s Legplates
  • Conqueror’s Greaves
  • Warswords of the Valarjar

Which transmog is your favorite?

A month of adventures

A month has passed since I decided to come back to WoW and it has been pretty fun so far because I’ve had plenty to do like leveling alts, battlegrounds, Nighthold and the Suramar storyline quests, class campaign, world quests and looting legendaries!

I completed the campaign on my shaman and finally unlocked the 3rd relic slot and new followers. My shaman also got her second legendary item last week which made it even more fun to heal because the ring, Focuser of Jonat the Elder, is great for chain healing which is my all time favorite healing spell. Elemental Rebalancers was the first legendary my shaman got.

My druid also got her second legendary a few days ago, Cinidaria the Symbiote which was a major upgrade from  a 855 belt. The first legendary was Promise of Elune the Moon Goddess.

I’ve also done a lot of world quests which I don’t find very fun at all, but still necessary to get more order resources and artifact power. Both my druid and shaman have purchased all the traits in their artifact weapon including the % extra damage/healing. My druid is at rank 40 and shaman at 36.

Finished the Suramar quest line and took my first step into the Nighthold (LFR). It’s a beautiful designed raid and I like how all of the bosses are unique and got different abilities. Even on LFR I found most of the bosses to be challenging but I can imagine they are even more exciting and fun on harder difficulties. My favorite boss is of course Gul’dan because it requires the raid to work together and people to do what they should, even on LFR.

Sadly, I’ve seen a ton of terrible players in LFR. Not only players who just got the required item level to queue, but players with good gear that just suck, who die to stupid things that are easy to avoid or have so low damage it almost makes you cry.

My fury warrior is now level 110. He was my first ever character and my main for years, so he is special to me and it was fun to play warrior again.

I did battlegrounds for the first time in Legion last week. Yes, really! Don’t think I’ve done a single battleground until now which is a bit weird because I used to do them all the time in Warlords of Draenor. Remember that I thought balance druid was really boring in PvE in WoD but so much fun in PvP? I think the changes they made to balance druids were good and it’s much better now than in WoD. But I still think it’s more fun in PvP than PvE because the rotation in PvE is so easy that it gets boring after a while of just standing there and repeating the same thing over and over again. So I will definitely continue to do more battlegrounds.

Ready for the new season

I got my Wild Gladiator’s season 2 weapons on both my druid and my shaman this week. Been doing Ashran on them both every week and some rated battlegrounds on my druid. The druid is my favorite character to PvP with, but shaman can be fun as well. I’m just not very good at healing in PvP on my shaman yet, maybe that’s the reason I prefer the druid. They both got new transmogs now as they got new weapons. I think the weapons looked good without transmogs but I didn’t have any set that matched so it didn’t work out.

SyrcoPvPS2-2

  • Stormrider’s Shoulderwraps
  • Stormrider’s Vestment
  • Stormrider’s Gloves
  • Malcontent’s Belt
  • Stormrider’s Leggings
  • Tigule’s Harpoon

  • Skullflame Shield

My warrior has gotten some new gear too, but not the season 2 weapon yet. I’ve done Ashran to get him full Wild Combatant’s gear, Blackrock Foundry for some PvE gear and upgraded his Steelforged Greataxe to 705.

Syrcorax, my first character

Today’s Breakfast Topic on WoW Insider:

My first character: Are you still playing your first character? Is she or he a main or an alt? And how long have you been playing her or him?

My first character is Syrcorax, a male tauren warrior created on Stormscale EU in 2007. He’s always been a tauren but I’ve moved him to Kazzak where I play now. He was my main from the day I started playing in the Burning Crusade till the end of Naxxramas in Wrath of the Lich King.

I’ve leveled him up every expansion but I haven’t done very much with him in every expansion. I think I did some alt raids with him in Wrath of the Lich King and Cataclysm but only some Looking For Raids in Mists of Pandaria.

I just brought him to Draenor a few days ago and I’m planning to level him up to 100 but I’m not sure what will happen after that. He just hit level 92 and it’s been fun to play him  again after so long, I enjoy fury warrior more now than what I did back in Mists of Pandaria. I would like to try some PvP and see what it’s like because I can’t even remember the last time I did PvP as a warrior.

He might never be my main again but he’s still special to me because he was my first character, we explored Azeroth together and I have tons of great memories and screenshots to look back on.

Are you still playing your first character?
