Best dressed: My favorite transmogs

Earlier in May Z and Cinder created a new topic for their blog challenge:

Best dressed: We want to see your best transmogs, and hear the story behind them. How did you come up with them? How long did it take you to farm the pieces? And just how often do you change your outfits? Let us know!

I love to create transmogs for my characters but I hate to farm transmog gear because it might take weeks or even months for the item you want to drop and I don’t have the patience to run a dungeon or raid again and again every day or week. Sometimes when I create an outfit it’s because I find an item I just HAVE TO use and then I have to create a whole set for it. But usually I just use full sets that I like. I don’t change my transmog very often because I find something I love and then I stick with it for a while.

Wrathful and The Stars mage

I leveled my mage to 110 in April but didn’t have any nice transmogs to use, so I bought the Wrathful armor and I was lucky enough to get the hidden artifact appearance.

  • Wrathful Gladiator’s Silk Armor
  • The Stars’ Design (Felo’melorn)

Cycle druid

The Cycle armor is from Mists of Pandaria challenge mode and it’s one of my favorite druid sets in the game.

  • Hood of the Cycle
  • Branches of the Cycle
  • Robes of the Cycle
  • Gloves of the Cycle
  • Waistguard of the Cycle
  • Envoy of Goldrinn (Scythe of Elune)

Celestial Harmony shaman

Vestments of the Celestial Harmony is the tier 16 set from Siege of Orgrimmar. Here without the belt because I thought it looked better like this. The weapon is from Throne of Thunder and shield from Dragon Soul. I’ve had these items for years but didn’t make an outfit of them until very recently.

  • Cowl of Smoking Dreams
  • Fleshsmoke Chain Shoulders
  • Tunic of Celestial Harmony
  • Handwraps of Celestial Harmony
  • Legwraps of Celestial Harmony
  • Torall, Rod of the Shattered Throne
  • Timepiece of the Bronze Flight

Golden warrior

This transmog was inspired by the Cyprus set I made for Mog the World. I wanted to create a similar golden set with items I already had and this is what I came up with.

  • Helm of Burning Righteousness
  • Dawnsteel Shoulders
  • Ritssyn’s Ruminous Drape
  • Heroic Judicator’s Chestguard
  • Conqueror’s Gauntlets
  • Girdle of the Lightbearer
  • Conqueror’s Legplates
  • Conqueror’s Greaves
  • Warswords of the Valarjar

Which transmog is your favorite?

Ready for the new season

I got my Wild Gladiator’s season 2 weapons on both my druid and my shaman this week. Been doing Ashran on them both every week and some rated battlegrounds on my druid. The druid is my favorite character to PvP with, but shaman can be fun as well. I’m just not very good at healing in PvP on my shaman yet, maybe that’s the reason I prefer the druid. They both got new transmogs now as they got new weapons. I think the weapons looked good without transmogs but I didn’t have any set that matched so it didn’t work out.

Game of Thrones transmogs

Game of Thrones is one of my favorite TV shows, so I’ve been looking forward to season 5 for a very long time. I couldn’t wait to see what would happen with my favorite characters so I read all the books, A Song of Ice and Fire, in the meantime. The show is great but the books are even better, so you should definitely read them if you love the show and you aren’t afraid of thick books.

I have made some Game of Thrones inspired transmogs. It was hard to find armor pieces that looked like what the characters wear in the show so they will never look exactly alike, but these transmog sets are inspired by the different characters. I wanted to make transmogs that are usable which means that the whole set is made of one armor type, cloth, leather, plate or mail. I’ve also found pieces for all slots that will be visible. You can just hide your cloak and head. Legs and bracers won’t be visible in all sets.

Daenerys Targaryen

Queen, Khaleesi and Mother of Dragons are some of her titles. She usually wears beautiful dresses like this blue dress she wears in Astapor.

DaenerysTransmog1

She wore a Dothraki outfit in parts of season 1.

DaenerysTransmog2

Arya Stark

Arya is described as headstrong, independent and dislikes traditional women’s pursuits so she’s often mistaken for a boy and that came in useful because she had to pretend to be an orphan boy for several seasons.

AryaStarkTransmog

She’s finally getting some new and better looking clothes in season 5. I couldn’t find a skirt that looked like the one she’s got, so I went with pants instead.

Cersei Lannister

Queen and Queen Regent for Joffrey and Tommen. She usually wears dresses and once she wore this dress which have the Lannister colors crimson and gold.

Complete Challenge Mode, check!

We finally got it done this week! My boyfriend and I looked for a group that sold boosts for quite some time because we had never done any of the challenge modes and we never had anyone to do them with. So we thought it would be easier and we would save a lot of time and stress by just paying someone to drag us through it. We found three friendly Swedes in Consilium, the guild we’re social in on Kazzak, who only wanted 60 000 gold per character if we wanted to boost two characters each. That was perfect for us because my boyfriend wanted to boost his death knight and druid, and I wanted to boost my shaman and druid.

It went very smoothly, no real wipes and not many deaths. We did one run on Sunday and one on Thursday, it took around 2-3 hours to complete each run. We were extra careful not to do anything wrong but the boosters knew exactly what to do and where to go, so we just followed them and did as they said.

I’m so happy with my new transmogs on both my druid and shaman and the mounts!

Which characters have you completed the Challenge Modes on?

Winner of Mog the World in 80 Days

mogtheworld-badge

Mog the World in 80 Days was a transmog contest hosted by Dragonray of Azerothian Life and judged by Navimie of the Daily Frostwolf, Kamalia of Kamalia et alia and Cymre of Bubbles of Mischief.

It lasted 12 weeks. Each week represented a month and the countries that has their national day that month. We chose one of those countries and made an outfit with those colors which we then sent one outfit per week to Dragonray for judging. When the judging was finished, Dragonray posted the outfits and the weekly winner on her blog. The overall winner would be the one with the highest overall points and most round wins.

I had never entered a transmog contest before or even made a lot of transmog outfits. But I thought it could be fun and decided to try it out. I spent a lot of time chosing the country I wanted to make an outfit for, and even more time trying to find the perfect piece of armor or weapons. Some of the outfits I made turned out great and I was very happy with them, others didn’t turn out that good.

It was always very exciting to check Dragonray’s blog to see if the weekly winner had been announced, but I never thought I’d win, so I was so surprised and happy when four of my favorite outfits won. I never thought any of my outfits would win because I didn’t have a lot of experience with transmogging and I knew that the judges are pro transmoggers.

The final week, week 12 finished two weeks ago and the winner of that week was announced last week. After that all we were waiting for was for the overall winner would be announced. I woke up Saturday morning to a happy surprise, I won! Who would have thought that? I’m so happy! My prize was a digital deluxe edition of Diablo III Reaper of Souls donated by Navimie! It was perfect because I’ve wanted to buy it since it was released, but I couldn’t afford it right now.

Second place went to PlaidElf of Plenty of Paladins who got a mount from the Blizzard Store, congratulations!

I have to thank Dragonray for hosting this contest, it has been so much fun! It has made me really enjoy transmogging and I’ll continue to post some transmog outfits here once in a while. I also have to thank the awesome judges Cymre, Kamalia and Navimie!

Cymre also made this picture of the highest scoring outfit which is a paladin plate set in the colors of Sweden!
