This week it’s all about the nerdiest things you’ve done! I don’t think I’ve done that many nerdy things compared to others. But some might be a bit nerdy, what do you think?

1. I have been to several World of Warcraft midnight releases to buy the Collector’s Edition which I preordered

2. Pulled all nighters and taken time off work/school to play new content

3. Attended guild meetings in a different country

4. I have driven across Hardangervidda on a cold and snowy November day to watch some of my favorite bands play

5. Started this blog :)

What’s the nerdiest thing you’ve ever done?

5 Fandom: Your 5 Most Binge Worthy Shows

5fandomfriday

5 Fandom Friday is a new community building project created The Nerdy Girlie and SuperSpaceChick. Read more about it and how to join here.

This friday it’s all about the most binge worthy shows. It’s hard to pick only five cause there are so many shows I could watch for hours and hours, season after season. But these have to be my top five.

Game of Thrones

GameofThrones

I think I started watching Game of Thrones when season 2 was about to start. I had never heard about it before but I had friends who told me it was great so I sat down and watched the whole first season and I was hooked. Been watching it since then and I’ve read the books.

The Walking Dead

Started watching The Walking Dead when it premiered. I’m very interested in apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic movies so I was very excited to see how this show would play out and I wasn’t disappointed. Been watching since.

Grimm

Grimm

I don’t remember when I started watching Grimm but I think the first season might have been out or at least some episodes. I admit I was a bit unsure about it at first but it got more and more interesting as I watched and the story progressed. The last season has been amazing.

Breaking Bad

Breaking-Bad

Everyone had great things to say about this show so I had very high expectations when I started watching. It was hard to take a break from the show when I knew the whole show was completed and everything I had to do was just watch it. It was so thrilling and exciting.

Sherlock

Sherlock

It’s been a while since I watched this show now, but I’ve watched everything so far and I can’t wait for the next season to start.

Other shows worth to mention:

  • Elementary
  • The Blacklist
  • The Big Bang Theory
  • How I Met Your Mother
  • True Detective
  • Fargo
  • Dexter

Liebstered!

liebster2

The Liebster Award is back! It’s been almost a year since I was nominated for the first time and wrote my first Liebster post which you can find here.

This time I’ve been nominated by Dragonray of Azerothian Life.

About the Liebster Award

General info (from Wording Well)

  • This award exists only on the internet, and is given to bloggers by other bloggers
  • It has German origins – the word “liebster” has several definitions: Dearest, darling, beloved, sweetheart
  • It follows similar principles as a chain letter, in the sense that it should be passed forward to a certain number of people
  • It can be misconstrued, depending upon your personal views, as either something wonderful (who doesn’t like awards?) or as an annoyance (a chain letter that involves work)
  • The choice lies within each of us to accept it, and continue paying it forward or to refuse to accept it, thereby stopping or interrupting the chain. However, if you stop the chain, you are only hurting yourself
  • Personal views play an important part in our choice to participate. Some people have refused to accept it and have made attempts to “break the chain”. There have been many people who have been nominated, yet refused to accept it, and now their blogs have been abandoned
  • Variations have been made over time to the “rules”
  • Marketing plays a role in accepting this award, as other bloggers are promoted
  • Other awards are a part of the whole “meme“. These include “One Lovely Blog Award”, the “Sunshine Blog Award” and the “Versatile Writer Award”

Rules

  1. Write a blog post about the Liebster Award
  2. Thank the person who nominated you and link to their blog
  3. Display the award on your blog
  4. Answer the eleven questions that the blogger who nominated you gives you
  5. Give eleven random facts about yourself
  6. Nominate five blogs that you think deserve the award
  7. Create eleven questions for them to answer
  8. List the rules in your post
  9. Inform the bloggers that they’ve been nominated and provide them the link to your post

Questions from Dragonray

1. If you could live anywhere in the world would it be where you are now, if not where?
I don’t want to move away from my family and friends here in Norway but it I could move and they would follow so I didn’t have to worry about that, then I would probably move to California or Sydney because I’m tired of the cold weather we got here and I would like to live someplace where it’s warmer all year around. Also the language wouldn’t be a problem because they speak English and I think there are more school and work opportunities there than here.

2. What do you order for your last meal, which can consist of any food you want?
Pinnekjøtt with puréed swede (rutabaga) and potatoes! Norwegian Christmas dinner!

3. Do you prefer chocolate, vanilla or strawberry?
Chocolate, can’t live without it!

4. You are stuck in a burning building, do you save your friend or the 1000 strangers?
If I was stuck in a burning building for real and I knew my friend was there somewhere, I would definitely go looking for him/her. But I would of course try to save as many strangers as I could while looking for my friend, and if I saved my friend and I could still save more strangers, then I would do that.

5. What do you do outside of Azeroth to relax?
I like to watch TV series and movies.

6. If you could live in any area of the game where would it be?
It’s hard to pick one place cause there are so many great ones. But maybe Mulgore and Thunder Bluff because I’ve always loved the taurens because they are so peaceful and kind.

7. What profession would you learn in real life from the game and why?
Maybe tailoring because then I could make my own clothes.

8. Who would you want to meet that is currently alive and why?
I want to meet my family from my father’s side, they live in Australia and the Philippines and I’ve never met them.

9. Is there anyone you have grown apart from that you regret?
Yes, a friend. We met when we started school and were best friends till she moved away, we try to keep in touch but it’s hard cause we don’t have a lot in common any more except for the fact that we used to be best friends when we grew up.

10. What is one of your current goals for this year?
Exercise more because I want to get rid of my asthma and get in better shape.

11.  Are you excited about Blizzcon being announced? What news do you want to hear?
Yes, I wish I were going because I’ve never been to BlizzCon but I’ll buy the virtual ticket as I do every year. I want news about the Warcraft movie and the next WoW expansion.

11 random facts about me

  1. I love to read books and I’m currently reading A Song of Ice and Fire: A Dance with Dragons
  2. I work at a day care
  3. I have never smoked a cigarette or used snus

  5. I wish I was better at drawing and painting
  6. I’ve never broken any bones
  7. I’m very interested in astronomy
  8. I love sushi
  9. I don’t like to spend money
  10. I could never live my whole life in the city in an apartment because I’m used to having more space and a garden so I want my own house with a big garden and not too close to the neighbors
  11. One of the things I hate most in the world is cruelty to animals

I nominate these blogs

My questions for them

  1. Why did you start this blog?

My gaming regrets

Gadabout-Gamers-Link-Up

I recently discovered this new blog through Mama Needs Mana. It’s a blog called Gamerwife where Mariko writes about gaming, other geeky topics and anything else that interests her. She has a monthly link up on her blog called “Gadabout Gamers” where she choses a topic, writes about it, and then other bloggers can write a post about that topic. Last month’s topic was “Gaming regrets“.

There is only one big thing I regret when it comes to games. Something I did when I was 10-13 years old. I sold almost all of my Nintendo 64 games and my Playstation 1 with all the games. I think I sold the Playstation 1 first to buy games to my Nintendo 64. Then I sold Nintendo 64 games to save up money to buy the GameCube and games which was released in 2002 when I was 13 years old. I still got my Nintendo 64 console and my four favorite games The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time, The Legend of Zelda Majoras Mask, Banjo-Kazooie and Super Smash Bros. But I had so many other awesome games like the Mario Party games, Mario Kart, Super Mario 64, Diddy Kong Racing, Banjo-Tooie and more. I want to buy some of the games back some day, because I want to have them, play them again like I did when I was a kid, I got so many great memories from those games.
I might also buy a Playstation with all the old games I remember. Some of my favorite games were Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Medievil, Pandemonium, Tekken, Tony Hawk’s Skateboarding and Gran Turismo.

I remember how much I regretted selling all those games when I got older, so I didn’t sell my GameCube, Wii or any of the games, I still got everything. I haven’t bought the Wii U yet as I couldn’t afford it when I was released. Actually I still haven’t been able to afford all the Wii games I wanted, or the time to play and finish the games I already have. I want to pick up console gaming soon. As soon as we get a new apartment and a new TV. I want to finish The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword and buy the Wii U before The Legend of Zelda Wii U is released some time next year.

What’s your biggest gaming regret?
