Leather SpecializationIncreases your Intellect by 5% while wearing only Leather armor.
Intellect: Intellect gives us spellpower, crit and mana. This is the best stat.
Hit/spirit: You need 102,45 hit rating to get 1% hit. The cap against level 88/bosses is 1742 which is 17%. With our talent Balance of Power 1 spirit=1 hit rating, remember this as spirit gear then gives you hit. Hit cap is very important as you don’t want to miss any of your spells, that’s a big dps loss, so hit cap is the first you should go for even if you have to gem/reforge for it.
Haste: You need 128,05 haste rating to get 1% haste. Our spells benefit more from haste now than what they did in Wrath of the Lich King: It increases the frequency of moonfire, sunfire, hurricane and insect swarm ticks. Reduces the cast time of your starfire, starsurge and wrath. And reduces the global cooldown of your spells.
Get as much haste as you can.
Mastery: Total eclipse initially increases the bonus from Eclipse by 12%. Each point of mastery increases this bonus by 2%. In other words, a point of mastery increases Total Eclipse to 14%, making your Eclipse increase the damage of your spells by up to 39%.
Mastery is weaker than haste as it only buffs the spells we cast during an Eclipse, but it’s still not a bad stat.
Crit: Crit increases the damage of your DoTs and direct damage spells. We are no longer dependant on crit to proc Eclipse or Nature’s Grace so crit is our “worst” stat at the moment, meaning it’s not as good as haste or mastery but you still want it on your gear.
Due to Moonkins being overhit-capped very soon with the talents, i chose to reforge all my spirit gear into haste, and all my hitrating gear into haste aswell.
Crit is important ofcourse, but since wrath has a 2.5 sec. base cast time, the haste-cap is way higher than before!
As haste gets you from lunar eclipe to solar eclipse faster (that is what you want!) I reckon it’s the new big stat for moonkins.
